REVIEW
It's difficult to create much suspense when characters spend most of their time typing at their computer keyboards. Unless the plot hinges on whether or not the hero makes a typo. Such is the case with Antitrust, a tame thriller that ruins a workable premise thanks to static direction and some silly plot developments along the way. Phillippe stars as a hot-shot computer whiz who is lured by software mogul Robbins (looking suspiciously like Bill Gates) to work on a highly sensitive computer program that -- unbeknownst to our young genius -- would give the CEO unlimited power on a global scale. Phillippe then uncovers the truth. Red herrings fly like fish, but matter little as none of this can be taken too seriously. Robbins seems to be having fun as the charming megalomaniac, but everyone else looks like they'd rather be in Traffic.
