REVIEW
From writer-director Mamet comes this winning comedy about a film company invading a peaceful Vermont community. As Hollywood and small-town America clash, careers are nearly ruined, engagements broke, and alliances shifted. Macy is terrific as the cool-headed but acerbic director desperately trying to maintain order; Hoffman is the insecure writer who may have found paradise; Baldwin and Parker are the shallow stars of the movie; and best of all is Pidgeon as the local bookstore owner and theatre director who always seems to be one-up on everyone.
