Big Momma's House

With a nod to Eddie Murphy in The Nutty Professor, Lawrence goes the makeup-transformation route, but without producing the kind of laughs that (first) film generated. Lawrence plays an FBI agent who goes undercover to catch an escaped prisoner -- by masquerading as an overweight, overbearing Southern grandmother. Soon, he's falling for his own "granddaughter," as well being pursued by elderly gentlemen and taking on karate class instructors. Lawrence is a likable comedian, and he manages to create some good will with Big Momma, but the screenplay is lacking any substantial humor, at least the kind worthy of Lawrence's talents.
