REVIEW
Pamela (Griffiths) enters her 30s with a fair degree of professional success but wondering about the high school sweetheart who got away. She literally runs into herself while crossing the street and finds she's in the alternate life she did not choose in her youuth. Her travels down the rabbit hole of self-discovery are highlighted by sparkling portrayals describing circumstances at once extreme and recognizable. Pamela comes to realize that life holds more options and variety than we may know, and every path involves compromise and some disappointment. The peformances are uniformly intelligent and good-humored, and this contemporary fantasy is a witty mixture of most satisfactory entertainment with wry social commentary and the unsettling contemplation that our choices inform our identities for better and worse. These underlying themes are more resonant through this comedy than the suddenly serious turns of Sliding Doors.
