REVIEW
A terrific cast is put in the service of a not-so-terrific film. Adapted (oh-so-obviously) from a play, It's the Rage follows the cast as they cross paths in L.A.; the connective tissue is guns. See, this is more than just an ensemble drama; it's a treatise on gun control. When the hamfisted political lessons take a back seat, the film is moderately enjoyable, especially for fans of interconnecting stories. The acting (most notably by Allen and the terrific Sinise as an unhinged computer magnate) is good, and the film is well-paced. But the end result is hollow and unsatisfying, and the "what happened to them" end title crawl is pathetic -- and rather insulting -- hand-wringing hooey.
