REVIEW
Jeanne is a wonderfully bubbly woman who likes to have a variety of men in her life, she goes through her workday flirting with the new men and arguing with the discarded. This continues until she meets, Olivier, the "perfect guy". Olivier is perfect except that he has AIDS. In a very unusual film, Jeanne and the Perfect Guy looks at the imperfection of romance through rose colored glasses and sings a few songs about it. The musical numbers are interspersed throughout the film, and are about commonplace things, recalling The Umbrellas of Cherbourg. The opening musical number is a West African dance piece performed by an office building cleaning crew! This film never found an audience in the theaters because of the obvious, it may find some viewers now. Very enjoyable film, even with the depressing subject matter. (In French with Subtitles)
