REVIEW
There are some comics for whom it should be unlawful to star in their own films. Tom Arnold is one of these. Rob Schneider is another. The former "Saturday Night Live" comedian actually has made an impression for himself as a comic foil in supporting roles; but carrying an entire film is a whole other matter. Case in point is this horrid little comedy with Schneider as a fish-out-of-water fish-tank cleaner who stumbles into male prostitution -- and succeeds! A sardonic, even silly take on male hustling could have been just what the housewife ordered, but the filmmakers have forgotten the first rule of comedy: It's gotta be funny. The jokes are tired, the story ridiculous, and even the dumb-dumber schtick fails to produce even the mildest of groans. Deuce Bigalow is the ultimate fish story: there's absolutely nothing there at all.
