REVIEW
An ugly, uncomfortable hostage thriller, Hide and Seek is a ill-fated cross between Misery and The Hand That Rocks the Cradle. This occasionally effective B-movie has about as many scares as it does unintentional laughs. Ann (Hannah) is kidnapped by Frank (Gallo) and Helen (Tilly), an unhinged couple who want the baby Ann is carrying. Chained in the basement of an isolated farmhouse, Ann tries repeatedly, and unsuccesfully, to escape at any opportunity. However, Helen will stop at nothing -- including murder -- to keep anyone or anything from harming what she belives is "her" baby. Meanwhile, Ann's husband, Jack (Greenwood), searches for his wife meeting frustration at every turn. Hannah suffers nobly in her role, but it is the sleazy Gallo and the extremely annoying Tilly that ham it up in this tense yet ridiculous film that ruins whatever potential this sick story had. Hannah plays a wife who is kidnapped by a deranged couple as part of a secret plan. Her husband only has a small amount of time to find her before she is killed.
