REVIEW
Snipes is a street-smart Venice Beach basketball hustler. He's black. Harrelson is a bumpkin-looking basketball hustler. He's white. A most entertaining and hip comedy emerges when these two hoop con artists team up to sucker the denizens of Southern California's hard courts. It's a great sting: Snipes gets into a game and ultimately brings in rube Harrelson. Who could resist going one-on-one with the Great White Dork? In his first two films, Shelton proved himself to be a master of romantic repartee. Here, the snap and sizzle of a verbal rebound, the volley of masculine bombastics is what distinguishes Shelton's energized film -- that and some truly remarkable court footage. Perez is quite good as Harrelson's girlfriend whose dream is to be a "Jeopardy" contestant.
