If you thought Griffin Dunne had a bad night in Martin Scorsese's After Hours, wait till you get a load of New York's truly dark side. Cage stars as a literary agent who unwisely picks up beautiful Beals in a singles bar and, after a bite in the neck, becomes convinced that he's turning into a vampire. The film alternates between rip-roaring black comedy and mind-bendingly surrealistic fantasy. It is Cage's over-the-top performance which is at the heart of this sardonic work.
