REVIEW
A weak, cynical cash-in on the current Scream craze. A hooked killer is offing folks at a university, utilizing scenarios of famous urban legends. The film opens with a botched rendition of the Scary Gas Station Attendant tale, then picks up a bit when old stalwarts like John ("X-Files") Neville and Robert "Freddie Krueger" Englund show up. There's also some fun to be had from the old wives' tales/chestnuts like Coke & Pop Rocks = Death, or Spider Eggs in Bubble Yum, yet even this is tainted by the fact that it's a rip-off of Scream's post-modern, hip approach to its pop-culture savvy film characters. While the killer's a bit tougher to guess, this whole affair is ugly, pointless and rather cruel.
