Untamed Heart

Slater gives a touching performance as a busboy whose childhood heart condition has left him emotionally and physically scarred. He's soon brought out of his silent shell by his love for a waitress (Tomei). They have a real chemistry -- even if Slater is more alluring before he opens his mouth and begins to pour his guts out. Though its pacing is a little off (the beginning is slow and the ending unravels too quickly), Untamed Heart is a sweet, warm, there's-someone-out-there-for-everyone film that teeters quietly on the brink of being a real tearjerker. Special mention to Perez as Tomei's sidekick.
