While each awaits her boyfriend to return home, two women, Carla and Lou (Graham, Wagner), discover during small talk that they are seeing the same man. How these two united spirits band together and turn the tables on their two-timing beau forms the core of this caustic, clever and original sex comedy. Blake (Downey) is an arrogant, self-absorbed actor who returns home to find his girlfriend Carla waiting for him. Unbeknownst to him, his other girlfriend Lou is also in waiting, and when they both confront him, the fireworks begin. But Toback's brand of fireworks is altogether raunchy, hilarious and rude. In Blake, the writer-director has found a near-perfect mouthpiece for ideas and sexual attitudes both men and women may think but would never say aloud. And as played by Downey, who gives an astonishingly versatile performance, Blake knows how to charm you even as you're loathing him. With a sprinkling of sexual sparring and maybe a little gratuitous nudity, Two Girls and a Guy is very much an adult entertainment -- a social and sexual comedy you can actually bite your teeth into.
