REVIEW
The glue-sniffing, dope-smoking Lewis brothers, known as "the twins" despite three years difference in age, barter prescription drugs from senior citizens and pilfer cars for ready cash. When a local pillar of society -- a club owner with police in his pocket -- refuses to compensate an injury on the job sufffered by their construction worker dad, the twins embark on a path of retribution that veers from goofy prank to unexpected tragedy. The actors are unselfconscious and direct, uniformly engaging in their portrayals of lusts and obsessions and fragmented loyalties. Often compared to Trainspotting, Twin Town is similar in its blithe juxtaposition of the remnants of Old World charm against the harsh realities of modern day vice. Corruption and drug trafficking have become the world's common language, the common denomination that unites us all. Editor's Suggestions
