REVIEW
MacLaine and Bancroft give tour de force performances in this exquisite drama set in the world of ballet. Bancroft plays a star ballerina who is reunited with childhood friend MacLaine, now a housewife and dance teacher, when the latter's daughter comes to New York to study ballet. Baryshnikov also stars as a dancer who romances the young Browne. Skerritt gives a fine, understated performance as MacLaine's patient husband. The film features excellent ballet sequences, and can be enjoyed even by those not fond of the dance. You Might Also Like
