Years before he burst into international stardom with the macabre and erotic The 4th Man, gifted Dutch filmmaker Verhoeven directed this acclaimed, sexually explicit drama. This is very much a film of its period, complete with jazz soundtrack, promiscuity, a hostile "establishment" and a "youth must be served" attitude.
