Huppert is coyly sinister in Losey's complex, funny and sensual melodrama about an innocent country girl who moves to Paris with her gay husband and vows to succeed in the business world with the aid of her feminine wiles. Cassel is a wealthy financier lured by Huppert's coquettish manner, much to the chagrin of his neglected wife (Moreau). (French with English subtitles)
