Blood and Concrete director Reiner offers another serving of his specialized brand of slapstick black comedy in this entertaining road romance. Just out of jail, Harry Talbot wins a Lincoln Continental at a card game and heads to Las Vegas to start a new life. His luck soon changes when Kit, a philosophical Mafia princess on the run, gets into Harry's car and demands a quick getaway from her pursuing family -- then they find a body in the trunk. Rubber burns and bullets fly as Madsen, as Harry, delivers an appealing variation of his stock charming rogue character and Arquette gives a spirited, if screechy, performance as Kit.
