1973, 92 min A.K.A.: Bodies Bear Traces of Carnal Violence, Carnal Violence, I Corpi presentano tracce di violenza carnale Country: Italy Studio: Blue Underground Cast: Suzy Kendall, Tina Aumont, Luc Merenda, John Richardson, Conchita Airoldi, Patrizia Adiutori, Carla Brait, Angela Covello Director: Sergio Martino Our Rating:
SKINOPSISSo packed with outstanding nudity from beautiful women and shocking sexually-based violence that you'll either piss your pants or blow your load prematurely, Torso follows four filthy hot fillies who take off for a remote mansion to get away from a psychopathic killer who's terrorizing their college campus by murdering gorgeous naked women and dismembering their corpses. Naturally, remote mansions don't make the best hideouts from psycho killers and nowhere is this more true than in '70s giallo films, so the killer tracks them down and comtinues his shockingly violent murderous ways. Along this demented journy, breasts are slashed by scalpels, lesbians get it on, unfortunate couples get their fucking interrupted by brutal murder, heads are crushed by cars and eyeballs are gouged out. Carla Brait and Angela Covello, playing an interracial lesbian couple, probably share the prize for "who's naked the most," but they are joined in the gratuitous nudity party by Italian hotties Patrizia Adiutori and Conchita Airoldi as well as the always stunning Tina Aumont. Hell, this mess of gore, suspense and demented sex opens with an amazing orgy! Any movie that opens with an orgy is ok in our book and this one's way more than ok. Just remember to spank it early as the last chunk of the movie is so fucking scary that your palms will be too sweaty to get a lube on. -- Rick Stanko

REVIEW
A series of grisly murders prompts a group of comely damsels to leave the city and take refuge in a secluded rural villa. But then, the murders continue at the new locale unabated. Unapologetically sleazy, the gory Torso is imaginatively directed and (despite typically weak dubbing) not badly acted. Not nearly as stylish or memorable as the best "giallos" (Italian thrillers) of the period -- by Dario Argento and Lucio Fulci, among others -- Torso is still a decent entry in the genre. Filled with rampant nudity, sex and violence, this is definitely a product of its era; if you can get past the occasional misogyny, you may find the film to be a surprisingly entertaining and suspenseful (especially the last twenty minutes or so) shocker. Uncut and uncensored.
