REVIEW
Based on the off-Broadway play, this comedy-drama of a deceased wife returning from the grave has a certain charm to it but there's nothing special about the dialogue or the story line -- Ghost and Truly, Madly, Deeply did it better. Gallagher gives an earnest performance as a professor and father who has yet to get over the two-year death of his wife. Looking glorious, Pfeiffer plays the ghost who returns to console and romp on the beach with her husband. As his family and friends start to think him mad, they gather for a weekend of memories and therapy. The film never ignites and takes off the way it should, despite some appealing performances. It also doesn't help that they changed the ending. Gillian has laughs and tears, but this ghost story gets caught somewhere in limbo.
