301 / 302
REVIEW
This amusing little black comedy/thriller is an odd pastiche that blends a squeaky clean Asian high-tech look with the sensibilities of Juenet y Caro (Delicatessen). The story involves two neighbors in a very chi-chi apartment block for affluent single women. 302 (that's her apartment number) has gone missing and as the police interview 301 trying to dig up clues, the film launches into a series of flashbacks that retell the two women's lives. The film's "surprise" ending is rather obvious, and there's an over-reliance on style that can't mask the plot's shortcomings, but there's enough here to hope that it's the first of many in a coming Korean wave of cinema.
