REVIEW
A man's attempt to soar off the roof of a London bank earns him a term of community service, through which he meets a young woman slowly dying in a wheel chair. Bonham Carter is creditable as she assays My Left Foot territory, as is Branagh as an artist whose canvases no longer engage his attention except as materials with which to test theories of flight. They are both outsiders, initially as separate from each other as they each are from the world that surrounds them; yet over time are bonded in mutual support and acceptance. While the actors delineate their characters with wit and sensitivity and a thankful absence of sacchrine sentimentality, the film often lapses into MTVitis and predictability. Based on a true story.
