Although not well received in its initial release in 1972, this oddity is a distinctly original work that fans of Chabrol and of the avant-garde should enjoy. Adapted from an Ellery Queen story, the film stars Perkins as a mentally and emotionally disturbed young man who falls in love with his father's (Welles) child bride. A bewildering mystery of madness, adultery and blackmail. (Filmed in English)
