REVIEW
When America's men left to fight WWII, her women took their places on the job, altering the structure of the family and women's self-expectations. The film's uneveness is perhaps due to reported disagreements between Demme and Hawn as to her character's personality; it is nonetheless well-worth watching. Lahti is outstanding as one of those women on the job.
