REVIEW
This "domestic" horror film may sound out of date, but its themes take on an unexpected resonance in the age of cloning and other innovations which were science fiction two decades ago. Ross stars as an aspiring photographer who moves to a seemingly perfect planned community with her hotshot lawyer husband. She soon sticks out amongst the apron-clad hausfraus who smilingly serve their husbands' every need and whim. Digging a little deeper beneath the happy surface of Stepford, she and her equally independent best friend (a wonderful Prentiss) discover the horrifying secret of the Stepford Mens' Association and their man-made paradise. Perhaps a bit slow to begin with, the film delivers quite a few good shocks in its final reel.
