The passionate life and musical genius of German composer Robert Schumann is featured in this interesting if familiar drama. While a student, Schumann becomes violently involved with his teacher's daughter, pianist Clare Wieck (Kinski). Their affair threatens the teacher who becomes jealous and forces young Kinski to choose between family, love of her music and desire. (Filmed in English)
