REVIEW
Director Wilder's masterpiece rates as one of the funniest American comedies of all time, and it only gets better with age. Lemmon and Curtis, at their comic best, star as down-and-out musicians in 1920s Chicago who, upon witnessing the St. Valentine's Day Massacre, don wig and dress and join an all-female band to escape the murderous thugs looking for them. Marilyn is Sugar Kane, the band's beautiful blonde singer who the boys are enraptured by. Curtis romances MM (out of drag, of course) and Lemmon is courted by millionaire Brown ("Well, nobody's perfect"). They just don't come any better than this.

"Look how she moves! That's just like Jell-O on springs. Must have some sort of built-in motor or something. I tell you, it's a whole different sex!" --Jack Lemmon as Daphne
