Soldier

The future's bleak in this tired sci-fi adventure which offers about as much thrills as the director's previous yawner, Event Horizon. Having a good look but even a lesser story than Horizon, Soldier manages to make the usually engaging Russell nothing more than a Stallone-clone, playing a monosyllabic futuristic warrior who helps a stranded space colony when they come under attack by militaristic forces (who were the ones who left him to die on the supposedly empty planet). What a waste of an intriguing idea.
