In yet another remarkable performance, Streep stars as Karen Silkwood, the nuclear plant worker who died under mysterious circumstances after uncovering damaging information against the plant for which she worked. Russell as her boyfriend and Cher as her lesbian roommate both offer strong support in Nichols' tense, harrowing and compelling drama.
