A testosterone-centric examination of familial bonding and sibling rivalry, this is a sometimes contrived but entertaining tale of two dissimilar brothers, one crusty dad, and the women in their lives. Francis (McGlone) works on Wall Street and possesses a beautiful wife (Aniston) and the morals of pond scum. Mickey (Burns) drives a cab and lives in a ratty flat with a broken heart. Dad (the endearingly cantankerous Mahoney) runs his waterfront dwelling as part boot camp and part locker room. This lively tale of miscommunication and erroneous assumptions is precipitated by Mickey's marriage to an intriguing stranger (Bahns) 24 hours after she flags his cab. He then crosses paths with his ex-fiancée (Diaz); setting in motion events which uncover a web of jealousies, secrets and lies revealed with Hal Hartley-esque juxtapositions and keen observations of human foibles. Lots of fun topped off with a sweet resolution.
