The baddest mutha in town is back, in this well-paced, action-packed sequel. While investigating the murder of a friend by an underworld crime figure, hero Shaft (Roundtree) discovers that the money he was going to use to pay off his pal's gambling debt is missing. He then makes a deal with crime boss Stumpy (Gunn) and makes the same deal with another boss, putting himself in the middle of an intense war. Stylish, never boring, well-acted Cadillac among blaxploitation films.
