SKINOPSISThe incredible true story of England's notorious "Profumo Affair" -- a sex scandal involving the Minister of War, a pair of showgirls turned escorts and a Soviet spy. The film also caused its own controversy due to scenes of graphic sexuality. Bridget Fonda and Joanne Whalley are among the babes who bare it.
REVIEW
First-time director Caton-Jones' vivid enactment of the incredible sex scandal which brought a firmly entrenched, conservative British government to its knees in 1963. Whaley-Kilmer sparkles as Christine Keeler, a nightclub showgirl whose sexual dealings with the then—Minister of War, John Profumo (stoically portrayed by McKellen), and a Soviet Naval Attache (Krabbé) sparked what is still the biggest scandal in British political history. Hurt is extraordinary as Stephen Ward, the socialite and sexual provocateur whose manipulations brought about what came to be known as "The Profumo Affair." You Might Also Like
