SKINOPSIS

Gary Oldman plays a crooked womanizing cop who gets in over his head when he squares off against a beautiful Russian hitwoman (Lena Olin in a devilishly wicked role) in this over-the-top thriller with enough heated tension to burn a hole in your television screen.
REVIEW
Romeo Is Bleeding has all the right elements: a nifty script about greed, corruption and sex; a grimy film noir feel that's tinged with a hallucinatory edge; a haunting jazz soundtrack; and a great cast that includes the always intriguing Oldman as a crooked cop on the take from the mob, Sciorra as his good wife and Olin as a devil-in-disguise cop killer. Unfortunately, the film lacks an overall cohesiveness as the disparate elements go on their merry way without ever really connecting to each other. Ultimately, Romeo leaves one entertained but unsatisfied.
