The once brilliant Brooks provides further proof that his comedic well ran dry long ago with this inane skewering of the legend of Sherwood Forest. Despite rolling out a barrel of half-decent one-liners and sight gags, the film clumsily plods from joke to joke, with very little of interest in between. Elwes does his jolly best to add a spark as Robin of Loxley, but he generally hams things up beyond all proportion.
