REVIEW
Ford plays a very nasty corporate lawyer who is shot in a hold up, thereby drastically changing his life. Forced to undergo a lengthy healing and therapy process, Ford is changed "for the better" when he returns to his ignored wife (Bening) and neglected adolescent daughter. Though clearly a "yuppie fantasy" for the '90s (no matter how ruthlessly or insensitively one acts, one can be redeemed in the end), there is much satisfaction in seeing Ford's transformation. And to his credit, Ford's beguiling performance as the child-like family man makes the most of the manipulative screenplay. You Might Also Like
