REVIEW
Director DiCillo (Living in Oblivion) once again lampoons the entertainment industry in this light-hearted comedy about women and men, how they perceive themselves and each other in a society preoccupied with beauty, sex and perfection. Modine and Keener play a couple whose personal and professional lives are at a crossroads. Modine, an actor, can't get his career off the ground; Keener, a makeup artist for a fashion photographer, has become frustrated with what her life represents. Caulfield is Modine's friend and fellow actor, a man obsessed with one thing -- finding a real (read: natural) blonde. Satirizing everything from daytime soaps to Madonna videos to Calvin Klein ads, DiCillo creates some original and often funny situations, but this is just another film about love and sex in the '90s.
