The Prophecy II
REVIEW
The Prophecy was an original little theological terror tale in which good angels battled bad angels and Walken got to play a bad ass with wings and a Brooklyn accent. A direct-to-video sequel has been spawned and, frankly, much of it straight from hell. Walken is back as Gabriel, the spooky seraph angered that God has favored Earthlings over his kind. So Walken lands in Los Angeles and tries to kill Wong, a good otherworldy messenger, and Beals, a nurse who is pregnant with no less than the savior of humankind. While The Prophecy was percolating with so many plots you could plotz, the sequel is happy just being a gory chase movie with a little Gothic atmosphere. Think The Crow with nothing to crow about.
