A deserved Emmy Award winner for Best Miniseries, "Prime Suspect" is a tremendous, gripping tale which combines mystery and the politics of gender. Mirren gives an outstanding performance as Detective Chief Inspector Jane Tennison, a policewoman who is able to confront rampant sexism in the police department when she is given the opportunity to head the search for a serial killer terrorizing London.
