SKINOPSISTwelve maybe old enough for Brooke Shields to become a whore, but she keeps covered up. Susan Sarandon, as her sluttastic mom, offers up a scene of endless goodness as she reveals her creamy, big sacks while posing for a photographer. They just dangle there for like a minute and a half of awesomeness. -- Rick Stanko
REVIEW
Malle's controversial film is a sensitively handled story of a 12-year-old girl (Shields) born and raised in Storyville, New Orleans' old whorehouse district. Carradine, in one of his most effective performances, plays the photographer who becomes obsessed with her. Malle's impressive evocation of WWI Louisiana is complemented by a remarkably textured examination of sexual proclivity. Sarandon is especially good as Shields' floozy mother. Editor's Suggestions
