Picture Perfect (Jennifer Aniston)

Sometimes Hollywood scriptwriters should take a time-out and get a job in the real world just to get a brief grasp of reality. Take, for instance, the implausible plot for the inoffensive Picture Perfect. Aniston is Kate, a career-driven employee at an upscale advertising company who gets passed over for a promotion because she's single. Instead of pursuing legal action, Kate agrees to a faux fiancé, Nick (Mohr). Even though Kate has only met Nick once, she offers to pay him to join in the charade, unaware that Nick wants more than a business proposition from her. The cast is attractive, and there's some low-key chemistry amongst the principals. But several genuine laughs and the thankfully brisk pacing are hampered by a too-cutesy climax and the unremarkable, contrived scenario. A watchable, amiable, easy-to-swallow time killer whose title is wishful thinking.
