Well into his 70s, Buñuel continued to cinematically pinch our noses with his playful surreal satires on the middle class, democracy and love. "I am fed up with symmetry." So says a character early on in this montage of episodes, dreams and nightmares -- each of which makes fun of man's idealistic notions of freedom. Filmed in an almost stream-of-consciousness style, this subversive little comedy is a delight. (French with English subtitles)
