Whereas most teenage comedies worship their young protagonists, Petit Con offers welcome relief with its pungent ironic humor that sends up both its adolescent hero and the values he blithely adheres to. Brieux gives a painfully acute performance as Michel, an 18-year-old cauldron of horniness, oversensitivity and naïve politics who tries to find his niche amongst the charlatans, hoods and weirdos of Paris. A Feifferesque observation of post-Sixties culture. (French with English subtitles)
