Don't believe the hype -- this is not some sex-drenched, exotic shoot-'em-up which could be misinterpreted, but a thoughtful, moderately paced examination of a young woman's reaction to a brutal violation. Neri is compelling as a circus sharpshooter, the victim of three young thugs whose advances she rejects. Banderas delivers an effective, subdued performance as a reporter captivated by the vivacious woman. In physical and emotional shock from the severity of the attack on her, she turns instinctively to a familiar weapon, near at hand, to execute her act of vengeance. Certainly not a great film, but compassionate in its depiction of one woman's response to an act of carnage that shatters her life. (Spanish with English subtitles)
