A young woman (Tomei) who, ten days before her wedding, takes off for Italy to find the man who she thinks is her ultimate destiny (when she was 11 an Ouija board predicted her future mate). Once abroad, she engages in a series of misadventures searching for Mr. Right, while roguish American Downey pursues her under false pretenses. Though Tomei can occasionally step on the line between endearing and cloying, Downey has a sparkling charm and ease. Cynics may wonder if Tomei would really have such an extensive ready-to-travel wardrobe in her meager closet; others will just bask in the film's witty dialogue and warm Italian sunshine.
