Rourke and Basinger star as two SoHo yuppies who meet by chance and quickly find themselves entangled in a highly erotic sadomasochistic relationship. Rourke is well-cast as the domineering, slightly sinister commodities broker who draws Basinger, a sexy art dealer, into a series of kinky, sex-for-sex's-sake adventures. Whether in a back alley or a clock tower, the heat from these attractive actors is enough to make the screen sweat, though not enough to produce a totally comprehensible film.
