The turning point in Monroe's career, this taut suspenser gave Marilyn her first big break towards stardom, and hinted at the legendary persona which would soon emerge. While vacationing at Niagara Falls, a faithless wife (MM) plots to murder her husband (Cotten) and run off with her lover; but when the distraught husband gets wise, he has other ideas. The importance of this film in MM's career usually overshadows the fact that this is quite an accomplished thriller.
