An intriguing concept for a science-fiction adventure -- about a group of aliens who rescue passengers of airplanes right before they crash -- is given an uneven treatment in this occasionally entertaining thriller. Ladd stars as a benign extraterrestrial from an underpopulated, dying planet whose scientists keep track of crashes, whisking away the doomed passengers to help repopulate their own world.
