REVIEW
Farrow appears in this fluffy romantic comedy which is about as close to a Woody Allen film as one can get without having Allen's name on the credits. But that's not to suggest that Miami Rhapsody bears a resemblance either artistic or comical to the Woodman: This is most definitely "Woody Lite." Trying to act more sophisticated than she really is, Parker plays a twentysomething writer whose impending marriage opens her eyes to the failings of the relationships of those around her. These include her mother Farrow, who is actually quite good as a middle-aged housewife having an affair with nurse Banderas; father Mazursky; and brother Pollak, who has a pregnant wife and a roving eye. There are some amusing moments and one-liners to this Rhapsody, but the characters' and story's lack of development makes it all seem half-a-beat off. You Might Also Like
