Melvin and Howard

REVIEW
A "slice of life" film that looks so spontaneous it borders on voyeurism. A sweet-natured study of Melvin Dummar, who claimed to have given a ride to Howard Hughes one night; later he's mentioned as one of Hughes' heirs for his effort. Le Mat gives a sturdy performance as Melvin, and Steenburgen won an Oscar as his mostly estranged wife. Robards is Howard Hughes.
