Igniting very few comic sparks, this scattershot comedy has Dangerfield as a controversial TV talk show host who likes to push the limits of FCC regulations. When threatened with cancellation, he sets out to interview the conservative Governor of Georgia (Stiers) and winds up being a most unwelcome house guest. In this updated The Man Who Came to Dinner, Dangerfield can't overcome the stilted material and general foolishness, even if every other word out of his mouth is a double entendre. Sure Rodney's inimitable delivery can cause a chuckle or two, but this is strictly for die-hard fans of the "no-respect" comedian.
